What is periodontal disease?
Periodontal disease (gum disease) is a common condition caused by inflammation of the soft tissues surrounding the tooth, including the gums, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone.
Receding gums treatment
Gum recession is the process of the gum tissue surrounding teeth wearing away, or pulling back. This exposes more of your tooth and can make it easy for disease-causing bacteria to build up.
In some cases, mild gum recession can be treated by your dentist with a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) of the affected area. If the gum recession is more severe and cannot be treated with a cleaning, surgery may be required to repair the damage and eliminate the chance of it worsening over time.
‘Gummy smile’ treatment
Are you insecure about your smile? When you look in the mirror do you see more gum tissue than teeth?
There are many reasons a person can have a gummy smile. From naturally having low gum lines, to clenching or misalignment of the teeth and jaws, a gummy smile is often caused by anatomical conditions.
Depending on your diagnosis, Bower Dental offers gummy smile treatments to help you feel confident in your smile.
Replacement of missing teeth with dental implants
A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal inserted into the jawbone with the purpose of replacing the natural root of the tooth. The implant acts as an anchor to hold an artificial replacement tooth in place.
Replacing missing teeth with dental implants can improve your facial bone structure as well as create a more comfortable smile with no restrictions or limitations with eating. Whether you are missing one or more of your teeth, Dental Implants are a great way to achieve a fuller, more complete smile, that are comfortable and look like natural teeth!
